Williamsburg will be crowded the weekend of the conference. Make reservations early!!

The residence halls are very conveniently located, five minutes walk from the either the plenary session site or the parallel session site and ten minutes walk from Colonial Williamsburg. Rooms are singles or doubles, with shared bath facilities. All rooms are air-conditioned. They are also very inexpensive, at $43 for a single, $36 per person for a double, and this includes a full breakfast buffet. The number of single rooms is limited. All rooms have ports for high-speed internet service. You should reserve these rooms directly on the registration form.

There are four hotels that have blocked off rooms for the conference. The last cutoff date is April 23rd. After that, it may be difficult to find a hotel within two miles of campus (and public transportation is not great). Three of the hotels are within walking distance of the campus and Colonial Williamsburg (although we will provide buses anyway to the morning sessions).

Three of the hotels are fairly inexpensive, at approximately $80 per room. The other is more expensive. Following is a description of each hotel. Unless noted otherwise, you should call the hotel to make reservations, and mention that you are with the DPF2002 conference.

The Williamsburg Hospitality House
415 Richmond Road
Williamsburg VA 23185-3536
PH 757-229-4020 or 800-932-9192
FAX 757-220-1560

This is the ritziest (and most expensive) hotel. Very elegant, "mints on the pillow" sort of place, two restaurants in the hotel. A description is here, but they ask that reservations be made by telephone for conferences. This is the most convenient hotel---it is across a parking lot from the University Center (parallel session site) and a ten minute walk from Phi Beta Kappa Hall (plenary site). Cutoff date is April 22nd. $118 for a single, $128 for a double.

The Days Inn Downtown
902 Richmond Road
Williamsburg VA 23185
PH 757-229-5060
FX 757-220-9153

Recently renovated, this hotel has blocked off virtually all of their rooms for the conference. Nice pool, free continental breakfast. Approximately 5-10 minutes walk from the University Center, and 15 minutes walk from Phi Beta Kappa Hall. Description is here, and you can register on-line at that site, or call. Note, to register on-line, you will need a special conference code which will be put here shortly, but you can call or fax now.. Cutoff date is April 22nd. $85 per room. This hotel is used by the Physics Department for most visitors.

Governor's Inn Virginia
506 N. Henry St.
Williamsburg, VA 23185
PH 757-229-1000 or 1-800-261-9530 (and ask for the Governor's Inn)
FX 757-229-7019

This hotel is the most convenient to Colonial Williamsburg. It has a pool and a continental breakfast, and is located approximately twenty minutes walk from both the conference sites, but only five minutes walk from Colonial Williamsburg. The hotel is owned by the CW foundation, and they give discounts on CW passes, and can arrange dinner reservations in Col. Wmsbrg. They also offer baby/child care. A description is here, but call the hotel for reservations. $80 per room. The cutoff date is EARLY, April 8th.

Spring Hill Suites (Marriott)
1644 Richmond Road
Williamsburg, VA 23185
PH 757-941-3000 or 1-888-287-9400
FX 757-941-3001

This hotel is the farthest from campus, approximately 2-3 miles. A very nice hotel, almost as ritzy as the Hospitality House, but only $79 per room. We will provide a couple of buses every morning, but it is best to use this hotel if you have transportation. Description is here, but call the hotel for reservations. Cutoff date is April 23rd.
